The Spell Realm of MetaMagic is for those Spells that deal with magic. Spells of detection, analysis, protection from, and negation of, magic.

MetaMagic works best on Traditional Magic, e.g. Spell Magic, but can also be used on other forms of magic; it just requires higher level Spells. Since Traditional Magic is one of the most common forms of magic, or at least is believed to be the most powerful of the common form (with Folk Magic being recognized as more common by some, but seen as weak), many MetaMagic users do not bother to learn these higher level Spells whose only purpose is to deal with non-Traditional Magic.
